Located in Kepong, about 16Km from Kuala Lumpur City, is the 74 year – old Forest Institute Of Malaysia, undoubtedly one of the leading institutions in tropical forestry research in the world. This well managed forest science park has a wide range of facilities that include six field research stations for different forest types and enables visitors to experience the wonders of a Tropical Forest. FRIM is a government funded effort to conduct research into the sustainable management of the country`s forest resources.
The FRIM forest reserve, located along the Selayang – Kepong highway, offers verdant scenery with many attractions and activities. Among them are an arboretum, or living “trees museum”, a canopy walkway suspended 30m above the ground; a botanical garden, natural trails, the FRIM museum and a water fall.
